Beat around the bush

And so all good things come to an end and I can definitely confirm that it was a good adventurous weekend. I had lots of sleep for a change, and came to contact with Mother Nature again. Even though I got some rest, there was never a dull moment. I actually lowered my bicycle from the roof of my garage where it has been hanging since I moved into my place, and took it with. This made a scenic off-road cycle through the breathtaking pine plantations in the hills between Hazyview and Graskop possible. This also ensured a proper workout!

We also checked the view from God’s Windows to see if everything is still fine, and indeed it is, except for the heartbreaking consequences of the recent forest fires in the area.

I entered the Kruger Park for the second time in my life (yes I’m a city slicker) which was a lot of fun but did provide some adrenaline along the way when we almost ran out of fuel on a very deserted dirt road between nowhere and Satara, at least we saw a Cheetah chase around some buck. We managed to reach the camp on the last fumes in the tank.

On our way back, traffic congestion due to road works at Belfast motivated us to take another adventure via a dirt road via Carolina and Hendrina which was also a first for me.

Just some footage from the weekend.

High speed car chase through the woods me hanging out the sunroof...

The car that can run on fumes

...probably the reason why we ran out of fuel in the first place.......I have a heavy foot ok!
